Is there anything for which you would give up your life?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 29, 2008:
i'm constantly striving to die to (give up?) my past in each new moment--- have found that's the only way to BE present right here, right now . . .don't see how it would be possible to "give up my life" to anyone or anything-- seems to me that life always IS & always will BE :-D so who am "I" to think there is a choice ?

YES! This is pure wisdom, pure freedom, pure love, pure delight! Never sacrificing this for that, never holding on. I recommend what I call “serial suicide”: when you get bored, ungrateful with your life, or simply are ready for a change: walk away from the corpse of all the certainties we have about ourselves and discover anew, radically.
I also like what you say “don't see how it would be possible to “give up my life” to anyone or anything” . Yet isn't this how we are often conditioned in this culture? Give your life to something, as if life was an object, or a sacrifice.
