What is your highest calling for today?

Posted on May 2nd, 2008 by victoria : B* R* E* A* T* H* E, you are Alive! victoria
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 02, 2008:

To recieve the day's unfolding. . .

Today

The ordinary miracles begin. Somewhere
a signal arrives: “Now,” and the rays
come down. A tomorrow has come. Open
your hands, lift them: morning rings
all the doorbells; porches are cells for prayer.
Religion has touched your throat. Not the same now,
you could close your eyes and go on full of light.

And it is already begun, the chord
that will shiver glass, the song full of time
bending above us. Outside, a sign:
a bird intervenes; the wings tell the air,
“Be warm.” No one is out there, but a giant
has passed through town, widening streets, touching
the ground, shouldering away the stars.

What does 'enough' mean to you?

Posted on May 9th, 2008 by victoria : B* R* E* A* T* H* E, you are Alive! victoria
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 06, 2008:

It is Not Enough

It is not enough to know.
It is not enough to follow
the inward road conversing in secret.

It is not enough to see straight ahead,
to gaze at the unborn
thinking the silence belongs to you.

It is not enough to hear
even the tiniest edge of rain.

You must go to the place
where everything waits,
there, when you finally rest,
even one word will do,
one word or the palm of your hand
turning outward
in the gesture of gift.

And now we are truly afraid
to find the great silence
asking so little.

One word, one word only.

What are you still searching for?

Posted on May 9th, 2008 by victoria : B* R* E* A* T* H* E, you are Alive! victoria
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 09, 2008:

Surely, you too have longed for this --
to pour yourself out
on the rising circles of the air
to ride, unthinking,
on the flesh of emptiness.

Can you claim, in your civilized life,
that you have never leaned toward
the headlong dive, the snap of bones,
the chance to be so terrible,
so free from evil, beyond choice?

The air that they are riding
is the same breath as your own.
How could you not remember?
That same swift stillness binds
your cells in balance, rushes
through the pulsing circles of your blood.

Each breath proclaims it --
the flash of feathers, the chance to rest
on such a muscled quietness,
to be in that fierce presence,
wholly wind, wholly wild.

for my daughter . . .

Posted on May 11th, 2008 by victoria : B* R* E* A* T* H* E, you are Alive! victoria

For my daughter . . .

For A Mother-to-Be

Nothing could have prepared
Your heart to open like this.

From beyond the skies and the stars
This echo arrived inside you
And started to pulse with life,
Each beat a tiny act of growth,
Traversing all our ancient shapes
On its way home to itself.

Once it began, you were no longer your own.
A new, more courageous you, offering itself
In a new way to a presence you can sense
But you have not seen or known.

It has made you feel alone
In a way you never knew before;
Everyone else sees only from the outside
What you feel and feed
With every fiber of your being.

Never have you traveled farther inward
Where words and thoughts become half-light
Unable to reach the fund of brightness
Strengthening inside the night of your womb.

Like some primeval moon,
Your soul brightens
The tides of essence
That flow to your child.

You know your life has changed forever,
For in all the days and years to come,
Distance will never be able to cut you off
From the one you now carry
For nine months under your heart.

May you be blessed with quiet confidence
That destiny will guide you and mind you.

May the emerging spirit of your child
Imbibe encouragement and joy
From the continuous music of your heart,
So that it can grow with ease,
Expectant of wonder and welcome
When its form is fully filled

And it makes its journey out
To see you and settle at last
Relived, and glad in your arms.

What do you like best about birthdays?

Posted on May 12th, 2008 by victoria : B* R* E* A* T* H* E, you are Alive! victoria
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 12, 2008:

Mindfully remembering the message of the HEART SUTRA & enJOYing a

                                                     HAPPY CONTINUATION DAY ! !

"If you look deeply into the palm of your hand, you will see your parents and all generations of your ancestors. All of them are alive in this moment. Each is present in your body. You are the continuation of each of these people. To be born means that something which did not exist comes into existence. But the day we are “born” is NOT our beginning. It is a day of continuation. But that should not make us less happy when we celebrate our “Happy Continuation Day.” Since we are never born, how can we cease to be? This is what the Heart Sutra reveals to us. When we have tangible experience of non-birth and non-death, we know ourselves beyond duality. The meditation on “no separate self” is one way to pass through the gate of birth and death. Your hand proves that you have never been born and you will never die. The thread of life has never been interrupted from time without beginning until now. Previous generations, all the way back to single cell beings, are present in your hand at this moment. You can observe and experience this. Your hand is always available as a subject for meditation."

Well, considering this Greenpeace action fell into my inbox just as I was reading the Q&R, I guess this will be what this voice (-over, tnx Joe !)  bellows out for today . . ( below they are asking us to blog this)  . . .I so LOVE how we are ALL one voice of BIG change !

GREENPEACE

ACTION ALERT: Whaling Scandal
Help us win in Japan
Breaking news: stolen whale meat scandal
1. Send Japan a message

Dear Friends

We just released the results of a four-month undercover investigation, and at this moment it's growing into the biggest scandal to ever hit the whaling industry in Japan. It's on the front page of one of Japan's most influential newspapers today. All six Japanese television stations attended our press conference this morning. We're demanding that the government revoke the permits of the whalers as a result of the scandal, and WE NEED YOUR HELP.

Please send this message to the Japanese government demanding a full investigation, an end to government subsidies to the whaling program, and immediate revocation of the whaling permits.

We presented evidence today in Tokyo of decades-old, widespread embezzlement of whale meat occuring under the noses of the public officials who run the whaling programme.

The best cuts of whale meat, used to make whale bacon, are smuggled into crew cabins, preserved in salt, and then shipped home in boxes marked "cardboard" or "salted stuff" to be sold on the black market. We intercepted one such box -- worth up to US$3,000 -- and presented it to the Tokyo Prosecutor's office as evidence this morning.

We have evidence that more than a ton of such whale meat was snuck from the whaling ship this year. One of our informants claims to have heard a crew member boast of building a house on the proceeds from his illegal take.

Now is the time to rock the boat in Japan. The whaling programme has been an embarrassment to Japan's Foreign Affairs department all year, as they dealt with pressure from allies to stop the hunt of humpback whales. They cancelled the humpback hunt -- surely on the back of this scandal, they must cancel the rest.

The Prime Minister himself got dragged in, claiming that:

?The research whaling which our country is doing is a lawful activity carried out on the high seas under the International Convention for the Regulation of Whaling.? --Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda, 23 January 2008

When a Prime Minister has egg on his face like that, somebody's in trouble. And the more trouble the unprofitable, sham-scientific, heavily subsidized whaling programme is in, the more likely it will simply be shut down as more trouble than it's worth.

Send a message to the Prime Minister asking him to end whaling.

Best regards,

The whale meat scandal team

P.S. Our office and activists in Japan have never attained such media prominence for the whale issue inside Japan --ever. Please help us to help them by putting the pressure on their government.

P.P.S. Please send this message to a friend. Send the action alert to five friends. Ask them to send it to their friends. If you have a blog, please blog this story. This is the moment to put the pressure on hard.

oh happy day. . .

Thanks to these groups who help make this voice count !

Dear vikki,

I wanted to share some breaking news. The House of Representatives just voted 149 to 141 to cut off funding for the war in Iraq.

This was followed by votes to put significant restrictions on President Bush's war policy, including a timeline for withdrawal, and creating a new GI Bill to help returning veterans.1

Make no mistake, your efforts were a key factor in this decision.
In the past two weeks, you placed over 2,300 calls to House members in targeted districts, demanding they bring a responsible end to the war and then calling for the exact vote result that happened today.

This is the strongest vote by the House since the war began in opposition to the President's war.

But, this is just the first step.

Contribute $35 right now to increase the pressure to bring the troops home:

After today, the fight goes to the Senate. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks,

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*MORE BREAKING NEWS ! *+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+

Just moments ago, by a near-unanimous vote, the Senate stood up to Big Media. They voted to throw out the FCC decision to let the largest media companies swallow up even more local media.

This is simply an astounding victory, and it would not have happened without the massive grassroots effort by you and thousands of others who called their senators, sent more than a quarter million letters, posted thousands of pictures and stories on StopBigMedia.com, and testified at public hearings held by the FCC.

It was your dedication that made today's Senate win possible.

Today was a huge step forward, but there is still much to do. The fight against the FCC now moves to the House, where our elected representatives need to hear from us.

President Bush has promised that he will try to veto this bill. But tonight the Senate and the American people have spoken with one voice. This historic vote sends a clear message that the only people who support more media consolidation are Big Media lobbyists and the White House.

We are in this struggle to bring more minority ownership, diverse perspectives and independent voices to the media. We need to make media consolidation an election-year issue. And we need to start talking about how to break up the giant conglomerates.

Corporate news today -- with its propaganda pundits, horse-race election coverage, and celebrity gossip -- undermines our democracy. We must continue to speak out and demand that the public airwaves be used to actually serve the public.

In just three weeks, thousands of people will be gathering together in Minnesota to build the movement for better media. You can join them at the National Conference for Media Reform, just visit www.freepress.net/conference.

For today, know that you played a key role in the fight for better media for all.

Thank you,

Josh Silver

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 18, 2008:

I AM co-manifesting the crystal seed of a New Earth, through harnessing the power of belief, for the Highest Good in the unity of ONELOVE !

Please enjoy these visions written by the Rainbow Earth Network (check their link below) which resonate as straight from my heart. . .

"It has been said that the universe is a thought in the mind of God. What this ultimately expresses is the understanding that what we see and what we are is the continuously held belief that All That Exists is willed and maintained into existence-in all its intricate complexity and infinite diversity-by the Collective Mind of which we each contribute a cocreative element, by our conscious awareness and soul-driven volition. Such is the Power of Belief, the very power through which our actual existence is made possible. Now since we are mostly unaware of the infinitely potent power available at our soul's fingertips, metaphorically speaking, we barely scratch the surface of all that can be accomplished, not to fulfill our every trivial desire, but to manifest the Higher Power for Good that can come to be when we align our will with the Will for Good and Perfection that is ever present and visible all around us and within our very own bodies, supremely well engineered to allow for the full expression of our soul's cocreative powers.

One of the tenets we all intuitively feel to be a central focus of our evolutionary thrust is the continuing improvement of life on Earth, through Peace, Love and Harmony for all, as is manifest in the vast majority of human beings through their desire to do good things and avoid bad ones. Oversimplifying for the sake of brevity, it can be said that should we collectively focus our will on the belief in a New Earth devoid of war, hunger and all the difficult conditions that render so utterly miserable the lives of so many today, but rich in what can be best described as heavenly conditions, we would made manifest, in a very short period of time, such a New Heavenly Earth. Perhaps, this is what we came here to learn-or actually to remember... How to harness the incredible power of belief to achieve what we, as fragments of God, have planned for the future of this planet and, by extension, of this universe... The moment we truly believe that such a Dream World is possible, doable and inevitable, there is nothing that can prevent it from happening. It is as simple as that...

Please join in cocreative thoughts, feelings and beliefs, as you will be guided and inspired to do, during the next four weeks, and especially at the usual globally synchronized moments, to comanifest the crystal seed of a New Earth, through harnessing the power of belief, for the Highest Good of One..."
